We visited this Mexican restaurant after a long day on the lake and we were all dead tired and SO HUNGRY. it was a unanimous decision to get Mexican and this place truly let us down. Although the service was fast, the interior is cute, and they gave us complimentary dessert, the food was no bueno. We all were disappointed about the presentation of our food and how it tasted. Everything looked like it could be made at home and it didn't feel authentic. Yeah I know I'm spoiled with the best Mexican food in Southern California, but this really sucked..

Awesome food. Love the chips and beans. Fajitas is a deal for $10. Spice is just right.

We all loved the authentic Mexican style food that they serve at this location and the best part is that it comes out pretty fast. It's a perfect location where you are close to. A Variety of shops and the movie theater. The drinks are amazing.

I tried this place because I saw it on yelp. Really good Mexican food! Bean dip and salsas are excellent. I had chilli verde, it was delicious. Good service. I will def be coming back when in havasu.

For sit down Mexican food in Havasu, this is my favorite. They serve warm chips with bean dip and two different salsas, and now they have free all you can drink horchata. Best part its homemade! The albondigas soup is delicious, and everything always tastes fresh. I always come back here with my family and friends, and they never disappoint.

Enjoyed our meal! A great value. My kids said, "Rachel is the best waitress ever!" Wide variety of selections on the menu. Our food came out timely and as ordered. We will be back!

Love me some Mexican being a SoCal girl!. Went last night. 2nd time here. 1st visit, service was slooooooooooow and found out it was our servers first day. Okay I'm tolerant, you got a pass casa. Tonight walked in and stood there for a few mins waiting to get seated. There were 3 people up front looked like the hostess, a server and maybe a bartender. Uh hum, excuse me, you have a customer in front you....all the while the hostess and server going back and forth about not knowing table numbers...ugh! I had the chili relleno and it was great. I like the hot, mild salsa and the bean dip....yum! So tonight we asked for an extra bowl of bean dip, my granddaughters been sick so wanted to give her her own to avoid double dipping germ sharing. Well it never came. Asked for a water and more chips and the chips came ( took forEVER) and no water. Okay asked for it again and finally got it. The service is friendly but extremely lacking in efficiency. It really wasn't that busy so I hope mgmt reads this and addresses the service issues as the food is worth the wait. Keep calm and eat your beans:-)

One thing LHC is not lacking is Mexican restaurants! Haven't been here in a while, but tired it again this past weekend. The place was pretty empty for being Memorial Day weekend. Chicken Fajitas on special for only $8.95! Food and drink were good. I will be coming here more often now! We all enjoyed our meal.

I ordered a chile verde dinner, it was a 10. The salsa and beans served prior to dinner was the best I have had. Service exceptionally good.

We were headed to a restaurant nearby and found they were packed cuz they had live music that night. Ended up here after seeing their Taco Tuesday sign. Bingo..... Ding, ding, ding! Excellent street tacos and kitchen tacos for 99¢ & $1.50. The staff was very nice and provided excellent service! We will be back! Our friend already has been. I believe they also have live music on Wednesdays.

Great food, wonderful service. I wanted tomatillo sauce & they didn't have any on Wednesday night, b-c it's served on Tues. night, & the manager made me a fresh batch of tomatillo sauce just for me. Service like that is very rare, but greatly appreciated.

Came here last night for dinner and loves me some tortilla soup so I ordered a cup to try it. -_- it smelled horrible and did not look like tortilla soup at all. I could not smell the spices and I know I could make a way better tortilla soup. The taquitos were decent but my husband ordered a mole burrito and he couldn't finish after a couple bites. Apparently, the mole tasted like chocolate mixed with peanut butter sauce that was over a meaty burrito which doesn't sound very appetizing. Overall, very disappointing. Based on the waitress' reaction, it just seems as if she knows the food isn't that great which I find kinda funny. We still tipped for the service but the food definitely needs a makeover.

I have always eaten here every time I come to Havasu. The food is decent... But every time... Every time the service is slow and takes about 25 minutes to receive the main dish. I am writing you this review because this was the first time I have ever been put me on a chip quota. They cut off our table from receiving chip refills after one refill. The waitress said they ran out... But apparently all the other tables were getting refills (maybe they haven't reached their chip limit) who knows. But the food is decent and the service is slow, but the desserts are good. If your not in a hurry to eat... Eat here.

We are walking in here at 9; and yelp says it closes in 30 minutes... We forget that we are not in Vegas anymore.... But there were people who came in after us and were seated... So I am wondering if the hours of this place are correct on yelp. The waitress doesn't seem to really know what beers they do and do not have. I order the carnitas burrito... And ask instead of the refried beans if I could have black or pinto beans.... The waitress told me that they only had refried beans.... Well, that Tells me that they are from a can. My husband ordered the fajitas that are on special on the weekend. We also got some tortilla soup. The salsas they brought were ok.... We would get refills on salsa, but not on chips. The tortilla soup came and it was more like chicken noodle with tortilla strips in it. My burrito came, and it wasn't rolled properly... So when I went to pick it up, everything fell out of it before even biting into it. Surprisingly, the carnitas were moist and very good. My husband said that his fajitas were good as well. After dropping off our food, our waitress asked us if we needed anything else... My husband told her not at the moment (because she had just dropped off the food).... But he told her not to forget about us. She got a rather sour look on her face and told us that she wouldn't...... She came back twice, once to refill a water, and to drop off dessert and the check. We wanted fried ice cream for dessert.. the waitress asked "strawberry or chocolate?"... My husband and I had never heard of those flavors, and asked if the restaurant had vanilla. She said, well, yeah. I'm asking you what topping you want. We opted for chocolate and it was decent. We have both had better mexican, and better service. So, meh. I've had better.

We came for dinner tonight with friends and we all had the fajitas special. They were pretty good but a little dry. Came with sliced avocados, a little bit of pico sauce and Rice with beans, also warm tortillas. You get 2 kinds of fresh salsa and beans with chips when you sit down and at the end of the meal they serve you churros with whipped cream. The best part is the Margaritas, very tasty and you actually got a buzz from 2 of them. We ate lunch here last week and had the American Flag, which was 3 different enchiladas. That was very good! So far I think they might be one of the best Mexican restaurants here in Lake Havasu!

  • Aras Y.

The food was OK. One salsa was great, the other bland. The bean dip was OK and the chips salty. I had the chicken chimi and it was alright. Only unseasoned chicken in the filling but it was cooked well and the flour tortilla was crisp and light. Our server had trouble keeping our drinks filled and failed to explain the taco bar. When I asked how it worked she just gave me prices. She was friendly though. The mini churros that came with the check were yummy.

We were looking for Mexican food while up in Havasu (but then again, I'm always looking for Mexican food!!) My brother suggested this spot. Service was a little slow at first but the server ended up being really cool and very helpful. i got the carne asada taco plate. The meat was tasty but there was a bit too much sauce for my tastes. I ended up getting a larger tortilla to make a burrito of the whole thing. I DID have a handful of margaritas though!!

Just ordered the marimba and let me tell you it was the worst plate i have ever had. It was a fajita chicken on a open hamburger bun. Are you serious??? Not to mention the bean dip they bring is canned. Kinda pricy too. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonald's and you have a better shot at getting edible food.

The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the service was good. The food was so salty it burned my mouth. My son didn't even like the kids meal chicken fingers and he will eat anything. I told the server it was too salty and she said they can't help it it comes pre marinated( really the cook can't do that). I don't send back food often but here I had to say something. Great location food horrible. Why is it so hard to do fresh food!!!???

  • Sandra M.

Great food, price , chips with beans, hot and mild salsa. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Happy hour bucket margaritas, I think they were 2-for $5. Key word is ask for bucket. We live here year round, this is our favorite Mexican food place.

  • Paul W.

First, this isn't the BEST Mexican food in the world. But how many places can say that anyway? The Salsa was good, and they had spicier options if you asked. The chips were good, too -- warm and just salty enough. If you do the salsa well, even mediocre Mexican food tastes good, so I was feeling pretty good at that point. And they bring out beans with the chips as well. I could almost have made a meal out of that... I ordered the carnitas burrito, and the carnitas were excellent. I did get a decent sized chunk of pork fat in my burrito, but the thing was so huge that I was stuffed even without the extra piece of pork, so I didn't bother to complain. The one downside with the burrito is that there was almost too much going on. But I knew I ran that risk when I went with it, so I can't blame the restaurant. My son got a steak burrito, and the steak wasn't seasoned the way he liked. They took it back and exchanged it for something else with a smile. Other than that, our waitress was more competent than amazing. Bottom Line: If you are in Havasu City and you want Mexican food (and a lot of it), this place is worth a try.

We are checking out all the Mexican places in Havasu and somehow ended up here w/o reading reviews. HUGE MISTAKE! Cadillac margaritas should have shot of Grande Mariner on side. None in it or with it, and at $25 for 2 tiny glasses expected better (most expensive I have ever had-I am from LA so I know.) While sipping noticed décor is nothing but dusty fake plants, and a LOT of them. Photos posted here are old. Also very dirty, making me pass on trip to bathroom. Then the food-AWFUL! I can make better Carnitas and I am not Hispanic. Cheese enchiladas were bland and bean dip had off taste. They must stay in business due to location across from bridge where unsuspecting tourists can wander in. Sure enough, it came up later for me, and husband wished it had. I would rather be hungry than EVER eat here again!!! (You know when you are the only car in the lot at 5 on Friday something isn't right inside-where I came from the lot should be bursting unless food is utter crap, and even then...) Yup, it was.

Great "hot" salsa comes with chips and refried beans. Good food and good service, clost to the London Bridge Resort. Nicely decorated. Bathrooms are beautiful, and clean! Great ambiance! The free dessert at the end earned them 1 more star for a total 5 stars!

Come hungry! Huge portions and great food. They have several large dining rooms so they don't often have a large wait and a large parking lot.

Nice bar, but food is horrible and very over priced ! The first clue about food quality is the huge menu. Too many choices. Limit your menu and improve food quality.

Just stopped in for chips, salsa and a margarita. A little better margarita than the Mexican restaurant across the street, but didn't have enough appetite for dinner.

Excellent food, excellent service, what's not to like? My wife and I had the chimichunga's for lunch, which came with rice and beans. The lunch was delicious, but what makes this place stand out is the fact that they brought chips and not one, not two, but THREE different dips. A mild salsa, a hot salsa, and a bean dip... All three were delicious. The staff was very polite, and quick to bring out the chips and salsa, as well as take our orders and bring out our food. This place was recommended by another local to the area, and that recommendation was an absolutely great recommendation. If I'm in Lake Havasu in the future (which I'm sure I will be), I will definitely be stopping at this place for lunch or dinner. Oh, forgot to mention. For desert we had the sopapias... nice, warm, fluffy pastries, coated with cinamon and sugar... Yummmmm

The service at the restaurant was horrible. We were served by Samuel, who happened to also be the bartender. He was flat out rude, rushed us to order, and was really inattentive. He definitely should be not be serving patrons. To make matters worse, the manager Jesus, I believe, was nonchalant and unconcerned about his employee's service. The food was okay but not the best. The salsas were pretty good though. I would not recommend anyone to come here.

Best Mexican food in town... Good service... Strongly recommend the "Los picantes" if you like spicy food... Fajitas are really good also!!!

Wow. Disappointing at best. Salad was soup. ... to much dressing. Cadillac margarita was not! . They served the warm tortillas in a plastic bag. .. and placed them on the table. NO PLATE. I give it one star as the lights were still on. Other than that. Go to Dell taco

It's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant and this definitely is! Great chips and salsa!! Much better than el mariachi across the street. I had the machaca chimichanga and it was awesome. Great rice and beans. Nice decor, went in the late afternoon and they had soft live music. Service was as good

This place is a fabulous dining experience...Might I add the Fajita specials on the weekend are the BOMB...!! The decor is pleasing and always friendly service..and love watching NHRA on the big sceen TVs in the bar area... If your in Havasu you owe it to yourself to be a Casa Serrano customer...

Casa Serrano used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant. Ate there about 3 months ago and the food was boarder-line. Decided to give it another chance last night and the food was awful. Should have sent the orders back and left. The only bright spot was our waitress; we tipped her well, but won't return. It was really disappointing because they used to have such fantastic food. I loved their Rellenos. We used to order a couple extra to take home and enjoy the next day. What we were served last night was dried up frozen, reheated microwave yuck. We had a lot of leftovers, left them on the plate to go where they belong; the garbage. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw Casa Serrano on 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares'.

  • Sara D.

We went to dinner with our large group celebrating 2 birthdays last Saturday. Sometimes with large groups at dinner can tend to be challenging especially on a weekend. Casa Serrano made our dinner so enjoyable and service was GREAT. Our waitress Irma was awesome! To add to it, I left my VERY expensive camera at the table and we called the next day and the manager has taken it to the back and kept it safe. We will definitely be back!

I am completely in love with the "chicken mole". It's chocolate and peanut butter over chicken. Well, it's not that simple, of course - but it's amazing! I've tried a couple of other things, and it's not so great. So if you're going there for the Mole, you won't be disappointed! If you're going there for anything else, don't say I didn't warn you!

  • Chris R.

Best part of the meal is the bean dip and chips. Other than that, quite expensive for what you get and the servers.....well lets just say they do not appear happy.

    (2)

Below avg at best. Tortilla soup is crap. Mole sucks. They bring tortillas out in a plastic bag fresh out of the microwave. I mean really? Rolled up plastic bag?

Love this place! Authentic, fresh, delicious and not expensive. Friendly, efficient staff. I'm from California where we have lots of great restaurants. I had THE best fish tacos here.

    (5)
  • Mishya J.

Best Mexican food I've had in a while. The portions are huge and the ones that R and I had were enough for 2 to share. This is definitely a place to go hungry and leave happy. Prices are really reasonable. Inside the restaurant is rather dark, but can be romantic if you think about it. Service was okay, not anything out of the ordinary. Would definitely come back.

  • Dan K.

One of the better Mexican places I have eaten at. The food is very fresh and has great healthy alternatives such as the fajita salad. The salsas are amazing and bean dip is even better. I stay at QB across the road all the time and always have to hit this place up.

    (5)
  • Frank M.

To say that the salsa and chips that they bring is the best thing there is not stretching the truth. Its better to go to the Supermarket called ... em.. (shamash? bashamas?) and get their tacos or burritos. More authenthic. The food was soo bland! They make El Torito look like home made Mexican food. Sooo bland. You could not taste the difference in food. Oh yeah the beans were good too. Enchiladas, Albondigas soup, taquitos, etc all were bland! so dissapointed. The food looked like they bought it all frozen and just heated it up! Will never come again. When we were eating we could see it was crowded enough and I am guessing it was locals or families and thought to myself "do they think this is good? are they locals and dont know better?" Sad Face.

Absolutely the best chili relleno with beans inside burritos. And the quesadilla with salsa and guacamole is really good too.

Two red salsas and bean dip that arrive first with chips were all outstanding. I ordered the chicken enchilada and pork burrito combo $10.00. The dish arrived with very good mexican rice and refried beans with melted cheese on top. A special sour cream came with the meal also. I think it had scallions and parsley or cilantro mixed in. Not sure what else but it tasted good. The fillings were moist and tender with a lot of flavor. I got seconds on the salsas and ate them with the meal. They bring you a fried flour tortilla chip sprinked with cinnamon and sugar and a dollop of whipped cream. Nice touch at the end of the meal. I would recommend this place if you are in Lake Havasu.

Can't go wrong here. Good hot Mexican food, better than your "average large restaurant" style too. Usually good quick service. A full bar. All at reasonable prices. Good place for large parties too.

You want huge burritos that you can share four ways? Head to Casa Serrano. Authentic sit-down Mexican food that is affordable. I had the shrimp taco meal which was fresh and delicious. Not the best I've had, but tasty regardless.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
